| CanSupport volunteers organized a fun-filled Holi for children and adults under treatment for cancer who come every week to the CanSupport day care centre for recreation, therapy and emotional support. |

 |
| On Friday the 6th of March, patients, many of whom were spending their first Holi away from home, which may be a village in Bihar and UP, sang and danced with gay abandon to the beat of the dholak. This was followed by the application of the traditional tikka with colourful gulal on the forehead. It was a joyous occasion for all. |
On the 9th of March, it was the turn of the children who come to the day care centre on Mondays to celebrate.
First, the volunteers explained to the children the significance of Holi, after which they played to their hearts’ content, not with colours or with water, which could make them sick, but with fragrant and colourful flowers. |

As Harmala Gupta, Founder-President of CanSupport remarked, “Why should these children be deprived of the opportunity of celebrating a festival due to illness? We, therefore, decided to bring the pleasure of the festival to them in a different way.”
It was a delight to watch the children forget about their cancer and get into the spirit of the event. It was raining petals everywhere and on everyone that morning! |
| The celebration was also attended by employees of Promed Exports Pvt, Ltd, a company that has been a long-time supporter of our work, and by students from Fostiima Business School who often volunteer with CanSupport. |
